About my collection:
Basically, I collect coins from the mid-1700's to the mid-1800's.  My interests began with Spanish Colonial coinage.  Soon after, I began to wonder what other coins were circulating around the world during the same time...  of course, the answer was a lot - more than any modest collection can do justice to, so please keep in mind, this site is limited to my collection, and will develop over time.  Basically, my hope is that this site does not become static.

Currently, I am seeking to add some French influence to my site - preferably late 18th century silver minor issues (24 or 30 sols).

On the flip side, I will likely be offsetting this search by slimming down my US collection, although I plan to keep a few key pieces.

For Sale / Trade

I don't sell coins for profit, however I do sometimes sell coins from my collection in order to finance my next purchase.  I'm always interested in trade, for pieces that fit into my collection.

About Me

My name is Rick.  By profession, I work in the field of finance and accounting.  I am a graduate of the University of Washington (school of economics).  Recently, moved back to Washington State from Kansas in Mid-2007.  I have a wonderful wife and three great kids.

Currently, I would consider myself a type collector of world coins (some refer to it as the darkside of collecting), with a focus on silver minor coinage from the late 18th to early 19th century.  Like most, I started out collecting everything that caught my eye.  Now I am in the process of narrowing down my collection to fewer pieces.  This has been a long and involved project.

Although I try and attend as many shows as I can locally, most my collection has been built working with people online.  In addition to maintaining this site, I am also the newsletter editor for the World Internet Numismatic Society, and frequent several message boards dedicated to coin collecting.

Notes:

10/4/08

Today I got to looking back on this year's collection changes, and the changes I have made to this site.  It's been a pretty good year, and shaping up to be one of my best so far.  That's probably good, considering the economic situation that is coming our way.  Who knows... The coming years could be a terribly dry spell for the hobby in general.

This year's highlighted additions include a Louis D'or and 15 Sols from France, a beautiful Austrian Ducat, 2 Escudos from Spain, and one more coin on the way.  Not a bad year, at all - with three months left, there might even be room for one more, if I sell off a couple things outside my focus.  And who knows what Christmas will bring?
