About my collection:
Basically, I collect coins from the mid-1700's to the mid-1800's.  My interests began with Spanish Colonial coinage.  Soon after, I began to wonder what other coins were circulating around the world during the same time...  of course, the answer was a lot - more than any modest collection can do justice to, so please keep in mind, this site is limited to my collection, and will develop over time.  Basically, my hope is that this site does not become static.

Currently, I am seeking to add some French influence to my site - preferably late 18th century silver minor issues (24 or 30 sols).

On the flip side, I will likely be offsetting this search by slimming down my US collection, although I plan to keep a few key pieces.

For Sale / Trade

I don't sell coins for profit, however I do sometimes sell coins from my collection in order to finance my next purchase.  I'm always interested in trade, for pieces that fit into my collection.

About Me

My name is Rick.  By profession, I work in the field of finance.  I am a graduate of the University of Washington (school of economics).  Recently, moved back to Washington State from Kansas in Mid-2007.  I have a wonderful wife and three great kids.

I have been collecting coins for a few years, and my primary focus is centered around minor silver coinage of the late 18th to early 19th century.  Recently, I have begun the process of narrowing down my collection to fewer pieces.

Notes:

7/20/08:  New updates this weekend - I've only had a couple recent upgrades to my collection, a 1787 Austrian Ducat and a 1787 British Shilling.  I upgraded my camera to a Sony model that features macro-focus, so the new images are a lot cleaner and easier to capture.  Hope you enjoy.
4/16/08:  been REAL busy with work lately, but I did attend the annual PNNA show in Tukwilla a couple weeks back, and managed to find a nice addition resulting from my search for pre-revolutionary French coinage.  I picked up a beautiful 15 sols from Civitas Galleries - who was in attendance of the show, and is always a pleasure to work with.  If you are looking for a solid world coin dealer, check out his website in the links above.
2/11/08:
I've been pretty active with the site for the last couple of weeks.  Over this last weekend, I revamped a lot of the site navigation, and removed old scanned images with newer photo-grade images.  I do a lot of photo editing on my laptop, as the raw images need a little touch up on color to balance out the wash imposed by lighting.  The effort is made in attempt to bring the coin closer to the 'in hand' appearance.  I'm thinking my laptop may not be the ideal workstation, as I think my images are still displaying a green hue that I don't see.
I'm not completely sure how many visitors still frequent the site, these days, since updates became so stale over 2007, so if I still have any viewers, I'd love to hear from you - drop me an email.
Looking forward to the PNNA show, this April:  the annual PNNA show is coming up in a few short weeks.  I know that Josh (from Civitas Galleries) will be in attendance.  As I mentioned in my last update, I'll be on the lookout to pick up some pre-(or early) revolutionary French coinage.

: I thought it was time for a complete site redesign.  I have removed the misc. world section, and have decided to attempt to streamline the entire navigation toward the development of my numismatic focus.  As I've noted, both above, and on my updated "for sale or trade" section - I am currently on the search to add examples from late 18th century France to my collection.  I would also like to extend my collection of coinage from the Swiss Cantons and German States.

: Ok, it's been a while since my last update... again.  In fact it's been over a year.  2007 was a very slow year for me, from a numismatic perspective.  I had a lot of life changes occur, but now that the dust has settled, I hope to get back into collecting (and updating this website).  I have switched my imaging style from scanned images to higher grade photography.  I'm still new at it, but I hope to get better over time, and improve the quality of your viewing pleasure!

: Ok, it's been a while since my last update.  Added a couple countries today.  picked up a couple of nice pieces from Portuguese Angola (a nice pair of 2 Macutas), and added Chile to my Spanish Colonial section, with a very nice 2 Reales.  I hope to add Portugal and the Azores before much longer.
